Khethworks

Khethworks provides micro solar pumps for small and marginal farmers. The solar pump system is efficient, portable and open-well submersible. Co-founders, Katie and Victor, started Khetworks during their graduate programme at MIT. The enterprise is a spin-out of TATA MIT centre.

Solar Pump System

The solar pump system is a hyper-efficient, portable, open-well submersible pump system. It is small enough to carry with a flow rate big enough to satisfy marginal farmers’ preferences at a bankable price point that does not depend on a subsidy.

  • Motor: Highly efficient 0.3 HP BLDC motor for high efficiency, low maintenance
  • Panel: 320 watts (2x 160-watt panels)
  • Weight: 4-kilogram pump and highly portable
  • Capacity: 1 litre per second at 10 metres (15-metre shut-off)
  • Operation: Automatic switch on/off
  • Coverage: 1-acre for a variety of crops
